All models are fully automatic, of course, but regeneration can be controlled by an integral time switch or volumetrically by flow line water meter or tank level switch. In addition, all models can be duplexed to operate in 'duty-standby' mode to permit optimum economy on salt usage and a truly continuous soft water supply. All models can be provided with volt free contacts for BMS systems but the volumetric control system manufactured by A&S (the DSC 997 Controller) includes volt free contacts for all plant conditions to be remotely monitored plus a 'total water treated' counter and a 'salt refill required' warning which can also be remotely monitored. The standard commercial range are known as the 'Nautilus Beta Range' and the treatment capacities go from the simplex Nautilus model TC-2 at 12.5 Kilograins (168 m³ at 20°Clarks') to the duplex Nautilus model DMC-20 at 760 Kilograins (7,500 m³ at 20°Clarks') for each vessel - but we often make bigger ones as specials.

The DSC-997 Command Control System           

The instrument is able to control regeneration (or backwash) cycles based on measured volume of water treated, by water meter or number of tank fills or time in service. It can control single or multiple softeners in standby or parallel modes and an extra regeneration (or backwash) can be initiated at any time without affecting the basic programme.

The control panel has a graphical display to indicate the current plant condition and all of these indicators can be duplicated remotely using volt free contacts within the instrument. In addition to controlling the softener or filter the instrument provides for automatic control of by-pass valves and booster pumps. The DSC-997 fully complies with IEC safety standards and is housed in a strong cabinet, IP54 rated, with a transparent hinged door.
